TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENCE SHALL COME, I JOHN SNUGGS, DO SEND GREETINGS.
know ye that I, John Snuggs, of the county of Montgomery and the state of North
Carolina, for and in consideration of the good will to, and my wishes for the
prosperity of the Methodist Episcople Church in the United States Of America,
have given and granted, and be these presence do give and grant unto Henry Ledbetter,
John Christian, Sr., John Randle, George Allen and Wiatt Randle, of the county
and state forsaid, Trustees appointed by the Randle Society, a certain lot or
tract of land, containing three acres and a half, including Randle's Meeting House,
Situated as follows:
Beginning at a white oak under the North East corner of the Meeting House, and
runs thence west, twenty-two poles, (22) to a stake by three red oaks; and a
post oak pointers; Thence South twenty-five (25) poles to a red oak by a pine,
and post oak pointers; Thence east twenty-two poles (22) to a stake in the old
field; Thence North twenty-five (25) poles to the beginning. For the use and
purpose of erecting and keeping up a meeting house, or any building for the use
of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States of America.
To have and to hold the aforesaid lot or tract of land, with all and singular
the improvements and other things pertaining thereto to them the aforesaid Trustees,
and their successors in office forever. And I do hereby fully convey unto the said
Trustees the aforesaid tract of land and premises, and warrant and defend the
same against the claims, rights, and titles of myself, my heirs, executors,
administrators, or assigns. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this first day of July, in the year of our Lord One thousand, eight hundred
and thirteen (1813) and in the thirty-eighth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
